Accelerated Mass Spectrometer showcased for MEP’s
BTTP films new hope in alternative to animal testing
A film showcasing the Accelerated Mass Spectrometer (AMS) in Glasgow’s SUERC laboratories was commissioned by Animal Defenders International (ADI) to promote the AMS as an alternative to the pharmaceutical industry’s use of animals in drug development. The AMS allows accurate predictions of how a drug will be absorbed, distributed and metabolised by the human body and is being presented to the EU as a more reliable method for testing pharmaceuticals than trials using animals.
