Bath Tub Race!
Back To The Planet was rallying support over the weekend for the Great Western Wacky Bath Tub Race which we are planning to host next summer. From our stall at the Festival of Nature, we asked the public to vote for one of three charities, the winner of the vote will benefit from the proceeds of the bath tub race. The Great Western Wacky Bath Tub Race was welcomed with enthusiasm by the crowds passing our stand as well as volunteers and other exhibitors at the Festival of Nature.
Mike Dilger and Miranda Krestovnikoff, BBC wildlife presenters showed their support for the event and jumped aboard our bath tub craft for a photo.

Our voting sheets filled up as people voted for the charity of their choice to benefit from the sponsored bath tub race. We asked people to vote for either FRANK Water, The Westcountry Rivers Trust or The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust to receive the proceeds of the sponsored race.
You can register your vote through our online survey.
Back To The Planet is inviting the public, companies and charities to form teams to enter the race with their own design of bath tub craft. There will be prizes for the winner (as well as the looser) and the team with the best fancy dress. The venue and date of the race is still to be confirmed, but we will be posting updates and more information on The Great Western Wacky Bath Tub Race Facebook page as preparations progress. We also plan to post tips on where to source materials from for you bath tub craft and tips on designing your craft.
