Europe’s Greenest City

Last night Bristol where one of the nominations for Europe’s Greenest City. And the award goes to…

Unfortunately, Bristol did not fair quite as well as hoped at the award ceremony in Brussels for the European Green Capital Awards last night. Rightly, Stockholm scooped the title for 2010, and Hamburg for 2011. However a nomination is not to be overlooked and we should remember that to reach the final listing amongst such established green cities is a great achievement. These cities are light years ahead of their UK counterparts in terms of sustainability. We would do well to follow their example.
