Severn barrage tidal energy project scrapped
After years of study and development the Severn barrage
tidal energy scheme was scrapped by Chris Huhne, the Energy Secretary.

Apparently the study clearly highlighted that, at present, there is no reason to use public funding on a scheme to create energy in the Severn estuary. ”Other low carbon options represent a better deal for taxpayers and consumers.” said Huhne.
