  1. Save water every time you flush your toilet, install a ‘Hippo’ or place a full 1L plastic bottle in your toilet cistern and save 1L of water every time you flush.
  2. Compost your organic waste.
    Ask your local council about compost schemes and reduce your household waste by composting your organic waste.
  3. Save money and energy by using energy saving light bulbs.
  4. Save money and energy by turning off lights, also appliances that have a standby display or light at the socket, including the microwave.
  5. Protect your rivers and seas.
    Use biodegradable cleaning products and detergents to reduce the pollution that flows into the rivers and seas.  Protect fish, invertebrates and their ecosystems.
  6. You to can help protect the rainforests.

  12. Take a bag to the shops with you and help reduce the amount of plastic being used.
  13. Use old envelopes by sticking on a re-use label.
