Kevin Burden – Producer/Director
Kevin Burden is an experienced film-maker who has specialised in reporting environmental issues for more than twenty years.
A politics graduate, he began by reporting on environmental campaigns such as the anti-nuclear movement and protests against road building. He spent several years in Cumbria, where he led the BBC’s coverage of the Sellafield nuclear site, but also reported extensively on fishing, farming and access to the spectacular Lake District countryside.
He was for several years the BBC’s Environment Correspondent based in Bristol, reporting for BBC radio and television, and presenting public debates on wind energy, waste disposal and road traffic. After serving a spell in management, Kevin returned to production in the launch team of ‘Inside Out’, a weekly current affairs programme for BBC1.
Kevin made more than twenty films, including hard-hitting investigations and profiles of people in the news. Since 2008 Kevin has been an independent media consultant and trainer, working with clients around the world. Kevin has mentored environmental journalists and film-makers in India, China, and south-eastern Europe.
